Step-by-step: How to unblock your sink

You can purchase a sink plunger from your local DIY stop, and they’re a cost effective tool to have in your home.

Place the plunger over the drain hole in your sink, and make sure you have some cloth or tissue to place on top of the overflow. This will stop waste water from coming up through the overflow when you begin to unblock your sink using the plunger.

Start plunging by pushing the handle up and down over the sink hole. After a time, check to see if the water moves freely down the drain hole. If it does, then the blockage has been released.
