Last week, more than 100 colleagues from all areas of the association took part in our first ever ‘Get to know your Colleagues and Community Week’!

The aim of the week was to get to know our colleagues better, understand how different roles contributes to what we do, and speak to customers directly about the issues they face in their communities.

The week also ran alongside Anti-Social Behaviour Awareness Week, so was a great opportunity to link in with partner organisations and local Councillors to really get a sense of what we can all do together to make Newport a great place to live.

Jodi Bowman, Customer Experience Manager, said,

This week was my first opportunity with NCH to get out into our wider communities with a broad range of colleagues from across the association and meet with customers to be able to hear their feedback about NCH.

“It was interesting to hear from customers on what else they’d like to see or what they need from us, so we can use that feedback to shape future services, but it was also really encouraging to hear so many positive comments on their dealings with us.

“Customer engagement is pivotal for us and is a key input to our Customer Voice Strategy, so it’s exciting to see how we can even more positively shape and share these opportunities and events in the future to increase our presence, customer footfall and build true and longstanding trust with our customers.”

Steve Thomas, Estates Surveyor, said,

“It was good to see other colleagues within the organisation attend and to show them the challenges the Estates team encounter daily. Their help in litter picking the areas was much appreciated!”

Sharon Wilkins, Director of Homes and Communities, said,

“I’d like to thank all my NCH colleagues and partners including the police, ward members, and other local housing associations for attending our first ‘Get to know your Colleagues and Community week’.

“It was great to see the collaboration and problem solving happening out on our estates, which will all help to inform our What Matters plans for each community.”
