We have been looking at ways to improve our homes in Aberthaw Road, Sullivan Circle and Penkin Hill, to make sure we provide our customers with a home that meets their needs, while keeping rent affordable and delivering value for money. 

We started the process of considering options to demolish homes and replace them with new, but we are now looking at alternative ways of upgrading existing homes.

To help us find the right solution, we are continuing to gather data on how your homes are performing. This will help us plan and prioritise our investment, so we can provide energy efficient homes in your community that are safe, warm and affordable, and do it in the right way.

We will keep our customers updated as we develop these plans further, and give you opportunities to have your say.

Any proposals we make in the future will be shaped by our customers' needs, through consultation, to make sure our investment achieves the best outcomes for the community.

February 2025

We had previously submitted plans to build new homes on Aberthaw Road & Sullivan Circle, and on Penkin Hill but Newport City Council have not allocated Social Housing Grant funding for our proposed project. However we are working closely together to explore alternative options.

We are now looking at ways we can upgrade the existing homes. Read the full February 2025 update here.

 

March 2023

You can download the slides from the resident meeting held on Wednesday, 1 March.

The meeting was to discuss the concerns raised by local residents since the planning application was submitted and was held at Alway Community Centre between 6:00 and 6:45.

An application for planning permission has been submitted for the developments at Penkin Hill and Aberthaw Road.
