group of people stood by a tree

Bettws Brook by Monnow Primary School is a popular walking route for pupils. Two teachers teamed up with our Estates and Community Development teams to plant 186 trees along the banks of the brook.

Their support means the children have a nicer stroll to class each day. Thanks Llais-y-Goedwig, the Welsh Government and Coed Cadw for the trees.

The trees help tackle the effects of climate change and contribute to the National Forest for Wales. They increase the number of trees in Newport, provide valuable habitat along the Brook and enhance what it is a well-loved local area for future generations in Bettws.
