At the CIH Welsh Housing Awards in Cardiff we took home the top prize, as voted for by CIH members, for the Customer and Digital Services task and finish group. The group was set-up to help develop our new customer service offer, including new customer focused service standards, that ensure residents are at the heart of all our services and activities. The group also helped to review the content of our new website and supported the development of the resident portal to increase on-line access to services by residents.

Head of housing and customer services Sharon Wilkins said: "We are thrilled that our project to improve customer services for our residents has been recognised nationally.

"The group we recruited involved a mix of previously involved residents and some who had never previously been involved. We also recruited a mix of residents from different areas of the city.

"The group had contributors from seven different communities from across the city aged between 23 and 76 with varying needs to ensure NCH's service offer meets the needs of all our residents"

"The Welsh Housing Awards are a wonderful acknowledgement of our principle of always putting the resident at the heart of what we do."

Community relationship officer Wesley Ford was also shortlisted for the 'Housing Champion(s) Award', and the Free From Fear Web Portal, a web portal launched in Newport to help social landlords improve their response to domestic abuse for their residents, was shortlisted for the 'Building Safer Communities Award'.

Congratulations to all of the winners.
