The Welsh Government has recently published its five-year Social Housing Rents policy, which will take effect from April 2020.

The new policy requires landlords to take into account the affordability of its rents for current and future residents, before any uplift in rent is applied each year.

Affordability for residents takes into account the whole cost of living in a property, including rent, service charges and energy costs.

We’re looking for your views on the affordability of your current rent charges before considering any rent uplift to be applied from April 2020.

By completing this survey, you consent to Newport City Homes processing your personal information.  If you would like further information on how we store your personal data, please click here.

We are holding a session for residents on Friday 17 January 2020 at our Nexus House office, where we will be discussing this in more detail. The session will begin at 10am, and is expected to last for two hours. Lunch will be provided.

If you would like to attend, or if you would be interested in joining a working group to help develop our approach to affordability, please let us know at the end of the survey.
