I joined Newport City Homes as a Social Research and Policy Advisor, bringing with me a background in clinical psychology and research. I’ve also had hands-on experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities.

This experience has given me a deep understanding of the challenges people with vulnerabilities face. And it’s fuelled my passion to work in an inclusive environment that puts customers first.

The desire to support people who need it most is what drew me to social housing. I wanted to be part of shaping a service that improves people’s well-being and safety and am proud to be part of delivering services that makes a difference to people’s quality of life.

As I was new to housing, there was a lot to learn!

I’m provided with unique learning opportunities and am falling deeper into the addictive snare of social housing every day.

I feel privileged to work alongside some amazing people who foster a collaborative environment. Their infectious drive and passion are encouraging and contagious!

My day-to-day work involves researching and developing evidence-based recommendations. This research makes sure that we’re using best practices, helping us to continuously improve the services that our customers need.

I’m excited to continue growing and learning in this role. Newport City Homes continues to support me to become better in everything I do. Stealing Lewis’ words here, the focus on developing colleagues is what really sets Newport City Homes apart and I can’t thank the people I work with enough for that opportunity.
