We officially cut the ribbon last week to open the newly refurbished Edward German Park in Ringland.
We were joined by pupils from the Student Council at Ringland Primary School and our partners at Lovell Homes, who have been busy giving the park a much needed refresh.
We removed the old play equipment and installed new ones to suit a range of ages and abilities including swings, UniPlay, a roundabout and an Anky springer. We also added a new gate and a litter bin to improve access and help keep the park clean.
We worked in collaboration with Newport City Council, who approved the design and signed off the completed park.
This work to improve the park is part of our large-scale regeneration in Ringland, where we’re building 158 new homes and relocating Ringland shopping centre.
We’re investing in what’s important to the local community as we progress through the construction phases, and parks for children was something this community told us they really wanted... if you’re involved a community group or project in Ringland – get in touch to see how we can help.
The pupils spent some time enjoying the new play equipment, and we think the new park passed the test!
