Keeping you safe in your home is our number one priority, so fire safety is extremely important to us.
We work with South Wales Fire and Rescue Service and independent safety experts to make sure that fire safety standards in our buildings meet or exceed Welsh Government regulations.
Our duty of care to you means we must comply with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. Installing automatic sprinkler systems in over 2000 of our properties is just one of the ways we are meeting these requirements which keep you safe in your home by reducing fire risk for you and your neighbours. For the system to work effectively, sprinklers must be installed in all individual flats and communal areas.
Harmony and Sureserve, our contractors, will be installing these sprinklers on our behalf.
When will the work start?
We plan to start this work in January 2021. If your home is in a block which needs sprinklers installed, we will write to you and let you know how and when we propose to do this work.
Social distancing and hygiene measures: Our commitment to you
Please be assured keeping you and our colleagues safe is our number one priority. When we come in to your home, we will always adhere to Public Health Wales social distancing and hygiene measures at all times. As a minimum, we will:
- Wear a mask when we are in your home at all times
- Use hand sanitiser regularly
- Frequently clean the area/s we are working in
- Maintain a two-metre distance from you.
Your safety is our priority
